EditShare systems are
Networked Attached Storage (NAS) devices that are highly optimized
for video editing -- both in their hardware and their software.
The whole idea behind EditShare is to offer a powerful yet easy-to-manage
system that facilitates a creative and collaborative workflow
but that does NOT require an IT expert to run it. Unlike many
SANs (Storage Area Networks), which require expensive Fibre Channel
cards and switches, all EditShare systems use standard 1 Gigabit
Ethernet for connectivity – something you can find on virtually
any modern laptop or desktop computer. That's plenty fast even
for working at uncompressed SD resolutions -- for instance, you
can play up to four streams of uncompressed SD in Final Cut Pro,
running in real time over Gigabit Ethernet. As an option for customers
working with high bandwidth video such as uncompressed HD, we
also offer 10 Gigabit Ethernet (with either long-range Fibre connectors
or economical short range Copper Cx4 connectors).

on location, then synchronise your EditShare Field to your EditShare
ESA back at your post facility for total end-to-end workflow,
or use ‘stand-alone’.
