Supporting up to five internal HDD, three optical disks,

disk space and performance needed for large models and

- Memory expandability: The HP xw8200 implements 8 memory
DIMM slots. With 2 GB DIMMs, the HP xw8200 can achieve
the largest memory configuration supported by the Intel
E7525 chipset - 16 GB on Linux and on future Microsoft
Windows XP Professional 64-bit edition.
- Intel Extended Memory 64 Technology: expands addressable
memory space to 256 TB, aiding in the design and manipulation
of huge data sets or models while providing an easy transition
path from 32-bit to 64-bit computing, enabling 32-bit
applications to run at full performance on an architecture
also capable of supporting 64-bit operating systems and
applications. HP's 25+ years of developing both 64-bit
systems and operating systems and our close collaboration
with independent software vendors (ISVs) allow us to deliver
highly tuned, stable, and certified platforms with the
latest technology available.
- Advanced high-performance visualization: The PCI Express
(x16) graphics interface provides four times the total
peak bandwidth and two times the unidirectional bandwidth
of AGP 8X graphics; the HP Leadership Graphics Program
offers a wide range of graphics choices for applications
that are fully supported on the HP xw8200 platform.
- Vibration isolation for better acoustics: acoustic
dampening hard drive
rails that minimize transmission of vibration from the
hard drives into the chassis reducing system acoustics
by up to 7dB, while protecting the hard drives from vibrations
outside the system.
- Intelligently designed chassis: The tool-less chassis
design eases servicing, upgrading and maintenance.
- New, quiet circuitry: The HPxw8200 reduces work environment
noise with a new, quiet circuitry that allows the fans
to run quieter at lower speeds when the system is idle
or running low-power applications, while retaining the
ability to accommodate high-power applications and configurations.
- Custom configurable to meet your requirements: HP Performance
Tuning Framework will guide your system setup, allowing
a "custom" configuration that best matches the
workstation to user requirements. This customization facilitates
availability of the latest graphics cards and drivers
