Panasonic has announced that they will be adding NewTek’s NDI protocol to a range of updated PTZ cameras to be released in the Fall later this year.
The new and updated ‘N’ models AW-HN38, AW-HN40, AW-UN70 and AW-HN130 will feature fully integrated support of NDI version 3 enhanced with a new High-Efficiency Mode that allows users to connect the cameras directly to an NDI network, with automatic detection by the NewTek TriCaster and NewTek’s IP Series of professional video switchers.
The AW-HN38 enters the Panasonic professional PTZ lineup as a high-value, premium quality model with a powerful feature-set similar to the AW-HN/HE40, but with 22x Zoom, HDMI and native IP connectivity.
As long as the NDI-enabled cameras and TriCasters are on the same LAN, you no longer have to worry about video cabling each camera to a central router or video switcher. Multiple productions can use the same cameras with ease, and centralizing a master control room can eliminate set up time on large campuses.
