George W. Bush Presidential Center Broadcast and Production Systems

Key Code Media designed and built the broadcast and production systems at the George W. Bush Presidential Center at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.

Key Code Media provided all necessary services, including design, equipment procurement, installation, and commissioning of the broadcast and production systems.  The facility includes media control and equipment rack rooms to serve various production venues within the facility, including an auditorium, media studio, and multiple interconnected locations throughout the Center. The broadcast system, tightly interconnected to the AV system, is equipped to broadcast, monitor, record, and archive a wide range of events taking place a the Center, such as seminars, speeches, award ceremonies, press events, meetings, and teleconferences.

The system relies on extensive use of fiber optics electronics and infrastructure and accommodates a number of different production scenarios virtually anywhere in the facility from press events to single camera shoots to multi-camera broadcast quality productions of the highest level.  Major components include three HD cameras in full studio configuration, four robotically controlled HD cameras in the auditorium – two of which can be converted to fully manned operation, a fully equipped 3.5 ME HD video production switcher, a two-channel character generator, routing and monitoring, an audio mixing and monitoring system, wired and wireless matrix intercom systems, extensive encoding and decoding interface, and a complete shared storage system for video ingest, playout, video and audio non-linear editing and archival.
